Discovering Sicily
The second
day of our meeting here in Syracuse was a day full of action and exploration.
After the breakfast,
all the teams arrived in the Apollo Temple, our meeting point and the adventure
started.
First
station was Etna, one of the most active volcanoes in the world which is in an
almost constant state of activity. After wearing our windproof jackets,
everybody has the chance to walk around the small craters, to admire the ugly
beauty of the volcanic landscape and of course to take incredible photos.
At the
right time Sebastiano and the rest of the Italian team offered to us delicious
Italian snacks. Everybody had the opportunity to tast the arancini siciliani and panini with Italian
prosciutto.
Next
station the historical city of Taormina, on the east coast of Sicily. The sunny
weather made us to wear our t-shirts! All together, we visited firstly the Greek
Ancient Theatre.
Then we had some free time for a walk in the picturesque old
town with the old churches, the lively cafés and the antique shops.
It was a
great experience for all!!!
