Meeting Toledo
The 3rd day in Madrid was full of surprises for all of us.
Our Spanish friends had organized an excursion in the historical city of
Toledo which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 for its
extensive monumental and cultural heritage.
With Helena, our tour guide, we strolled down the small streets and she gave
us many information about the old town and the historical sites. We visited the
old Jews’ synagogue and the museum of the famous painter Domenicos
Theotokopoulos, the known as El Greco.
We also had the opportunity to taste some traditional dishes of Toledo
which were quite delicious.
After our return to Madrid, some of us enjoyed Matadero and Casa de
Campo by bike. It was a very nice activity to see one of the most recreational
areas with nice views of the city.
